Talking Story Books
Simple talking storybooks can be created with commonly available presentation software such as powerpoint enabling and motivating children with poor literacy skills to produce meaningful, high quality work. All of the stories featured on this page were created together with pupils from as young as Y1.
We hope they give you some ideas for talking story books of your own.

What's a girl to do?
Anne Frank
PSHE story for teenage girls on the topic of personal hygene. Illustrated story about the life of Anne Frank.

A PSHE / Relationships story set in an African village. Animated film created by some of our Post 16 students.

The Sleepy Farmer
A travel guide to the seaside town of Saltburn. Made by students in KS2. A talking, interactive story written to support a KS2 work - 'On the farm'.

Useful tip
Making Your Own 'Talking Storybooks'
Making talking storybooks of your own isn't as difficult as you may imagine. To get you going we have created a simple to use 'big book' template that you can edit. To make your first 'book' simply follow the instructions. When you are ready for something a little more sophisticated, you might like to download and read these excellent guides written by Richard Walter.
